Merle Edward Crane, 96, of Seligman, Mo. passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024, at Roaring River Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Cassville, Mo.
He was born May 20, 1928, in Caldwell, Kan., the son of Edd and Ruth (Ryman) Crane, who preceded him in death.
Also preceding him in death was his son, Terry Wayne Crane.
Survivors include his wife, Naomi; one son, David D. Crane and his wife Marcie of Pearland, Texas; one daughter, Liona Oxford and her husband Alan of Seligman, Mo.; six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
He attended South Haven High School in South Haven, Kan., from where he graduated in 1946. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953, serving during the Korean War in the 82nd Airborne, Tank Division. He worked most of his life as a self-employed Electronics Technician. He was a member of American Legion Post 118 in Cassville, Mo.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, July 20, 2024 at New Freedom Worship Center in Purdy, Mo., under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Blake Orr and Pastor Joe Wogoman will conduct the services. Burial with military honors will be at Macedonia Cemetery in Stella, Mo.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 P.M., Friday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville, Mo.
Contributions may be made to New Freedom Worship Center or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Merle.
