Dear Editor:

There has been misinformation circulating Barry County concerning the GED program that will be offered at the new county jail.

The program will not use any tax dollars.

The program is a project initiative of the non-profit Community Care Coalition of Barry County in partnership with the present Barry County Sheriff’s Office. The initiative, called “Open Minds,” is funded entirely by grants and donations.
