Six individuals from the 2024 Southwest High School graduates have received coveted grants and scholarships to continue their education fully paid for, joining nine of their peers in having their continued education fully funded.
Trey Ray, of Butterfield, received the College Assistance Migrant Program Scholarship from Crowder College where he will study Diesel Mechanics. This scholarship is Federally funded for students who have an agricultural background like Ray.
Students in this program receive financial assistance for tuition, student fees, textbooks, room and board and a monthly stipend to offset personal needs for his first year. For more information on the program, people may visit https://www.crowder. edu/services/camp/.
Kalleb Roland, of Washburn, recently completed his CDL training from Truck Dynasty Driving Academy in partnership with the Good Jobs Challenge Grant. The Good Jobs Challenge Grant is a program through the Federal Economic Development Association that will pay for short term training in highly needed fields.

The Hagan Scholarship also gives students who win the scholarship opportunities for Study Abroad, managing brokerage accounts and funds to purchase college essentials.
Wolf is planning to attend the University of Idaho to study Wildlife Resource Management Outhouse is planning to attend Missouri State University to study Nursing, and Kelley is planning to attend Drury University to study Architecture.

Jordan Long, of Washburn, is a recipient of the root-Ed Undergraduate Scholarship. The root-Ed Undergraduate Scholarship offers students attending a 4-year University up to $12,000 a year for 5 years.
Long is planning to attend Missouri State University to study Physical Education where he will also be a manager for their Women’s Volleyball team. The 2024 graduates who will receive their first two years of continued education paid for through the A+ scholarship program offered by the State of Missouri include:
• Bruce Duncan, who will be studying Electrical Technology at State Technical School
• Vicky Escobar-Tenorio, who will be studying Business at Crowder College
• Alissa Russell, who will be studying Psychology at Crowder College
• Juliauna Sierra, who will be studying General Studies at Crowder College
• Morgan Slaughter, who has begun studying Nursing at Crowder College
• Brooklynn Slye, who will be studying General Studies at Crowder College
