LIVE FOOTBALL UPDATES: Cassville at Seneca

Wildcats kick off, with Logan Wingo bouncing one recovered by Seneca at its own 34. Indians gain 4, then across midfield to the 46. Seneca gains another 4, then 4 more, offside on Cassville gives the first to the 33. Indians QB looks pass then keeps it, downed at the 8. Indians back goes right and cuts up left to put Seneca ahead 7-0 with 9:21 left in the first quarter.


James picked up a bouncing ball and returns to the 32. Rose stopped at the line, tripped up on second down to make it third and 15. Pass overthrown and Cassville punts out of bounds at the Seneca 39.

Indians gain a first to the 42. False start moves it back, run gains 2, pitch play gains to Cassville 36. Run gains 7, then to the 9 for a first down. Dive gets to the 1, Seneca scores from there to go up 14-0 with 4:07 in the first.

Seneca kick goes out of bounds. Cassville starts at own 40. On a quick to the line, Rose follows blocks left to the Indians 25 but holding and horse collar offset and it’s first down again. False start moves it back 5, Rose goes to throw but is hit and loses the ball, Indians recover at Cassville 30.

Sweep gains to the 11, next run goes yard. Seneca leads 21-0 with 3:22 left in the first.

After kicking penalty, kick is returned to the Cassville 34. Handoff loses 1, pass incomplete, Rose cuts to the 34 and punts down to the Seneca 15.

Seneca gets a first to the 33, gains 3, then another first. Quarter ends with a run to Cassville’s 44.

Holding called to make it 2nd and 11, run gains 6, pitch left gains a bunch then called back for holding to force third and 8. Screen pass gets a first to Cassville 28. Indians gain to the 10, then the 7, scoring from there. Seneca leads 28-0 with 8:57 left in the second quarter.

James returns the kick to the 38. Goutney gains 2, pitch is fumbled and recovered by Seneca at the 34.

Kick returned to the 31. Three runs result in a few yards. On fourth and 2, offside gets the first down. Roark nearly comes down with a catch batted out of his grip, next one thrown his way is caught for a first at Seneca’s 31. Roark then catches another at the 8. Two passes incomplete, then Roark goes up to catch a third pass, kick called no good as it breezed by the Bottom goalpost. Seneca leads 35-6 with 3:33 left in the second.

Wingo chops another on the kick and it bounces off an Indian and back to Cassville at the Seneca 46. Pass long slips through Barrientos’ hands, Roark hauls in yet another, but the next lob his way is picked in the end zone.

Seneca gains to Cassville 39, burns clock and gets to the 10. Wildcats hold the goals line to end the half.

Morse returns to the 26, Goutney gains 3, Roark catches for 4 more, Rose gets a first to the 37. Run stopped at the line, Goutney cuts up for 5, Rusty brings in a sideline bomb at the Seneca 27. Roark jets left to the 6, Thompson gains 2, pass thrown away and intentional grounding called, pass incomplete to force fourth and goal from the 17. Haros connects a 34-yard kick to bring the score to 35-9 Seneca with 7:14 left in the third.

Kickoff goes out of bounds, Seneca starts at own 40. Run gains 7, then a first to the 41. Pass complete for another first to the Wildcats 37. Run up the middle juked into the end zone. Indians up 42-9 with 5:46 left in the third.

Return gets to the 29. Pass incomplete, run gains 1 and screen pass goes back 1, punt downed at Indians 28.

Run gains to the 42, penalty moves it back to 46 after a run gains 9. Holding moves it back 10 more for first and 20. Indians fumble recovered at 34, run makes it third and 11, run goes left for a first to Cassville’s 33. Facemask on Wildcats moves ball to 18. Seneca scores from there to go up 49-9 with 1:08 left in 3Q.

Kick out of bounds. Holding moves ball to 30, Roark gains 11 on a catch to end the quarter.

End 3Q: Seneca 49, Cassville 9

Goutney rolls through a tackle to gain a first at Seneca’s 40. Rose gains 7, Roark takes a handoff left to go 33 yards untouched to paydirt. Seneca now up 49-16 with 9:55 to play.

Bouncing kick recovered at the 42. Run gets 5, then 5 more. Next run gets 7, then three 1-yard runs for a first. Indians continue chewing clock, driving bit by bit to score from the 6. Seneca up 55-16 with 3:29 to play.

Morse returns to the 36, backups on the field. Pair of runs get 6, next pair get a first. Final run gains a few as clock expires.
