Sara Jane (Poetker) Schad, 49, of Purdy, Missouri was called home to Heaven after suffering a short illness. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on April 1, 1975; the daughter of Larry and Barbara (Talken) Poetker and birth mother Julie Poe. She was united in marriage on October 9, 1999 at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Jefferson City, Missouri to Gary Schad; he survives.

She worked for Jack Henry in Monett, Missouri. She was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett, Missouri, the PCCW, and the FFA Booster Club and Athletic Booster Club in Purdy, Missouri.

Sara is survived by her husband Gary Schad of the home; one son Randy Schad of Purdy, Missouri; two daughters: Robyn Schad and Rosa Schad both of Purdy, Missouri; her parents: Larry and Barbara Poetker of Jefferson City, Missouri; birth mother: Julie Poe of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; one sister: Jill Smith of Jefferson City, Missouri; father-in-law: Phil Schad of Purdy, Missouri; sister- in-law: Tracy Witt and husband Nathan of Purdy, Missouri; nephews Logan and Carter Witt of Purdy, Missouri; and nieces Kendall Smith of Scottsdale, Arizona and Trinity Witt of Purdy, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her mother-inlaw: Margie Schad; brother- in-law: Randy John Schad; and niece: Sierra Smith.

Rosary for Sara is being held on Thursday September 12, 2024 at 5:30p.m. at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett, Missouri. Visitation will follow Rosary from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Funeral Mass is being held on Friday September 13, 2024 at 10:00a.m. at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett, Missouri with Father Rahab Isidor officiating. Burial will follow services at the St. John’s on Stone’s Prairie Cemetery in Purdy, Missouri.
