Campground 3 improvements progressing at Roaring River State Park

Roaring River concessions to stay open year-round

Roaring River State Park superintendent Mike Busekrus said the construction work at Campground 3 continues on schedule, with concrete work due to be completed this week.

“The new sites will have lots of room to spread out,” Busekrus said on a video he recently posted to the park’s Facebook page.

Improvements include 55-foot long by 14-foot wide concrete pads, with water and sewer hook-ups, 50-amp electric service and 20-foot picnic table pads.

Busekrus did not offer a completion date for the entire project, but he encourages people to follow the official Roaring River State Park Facebook page (the one with the red Making Missouri Memories icon) for up-to-date information about the campground’s opening.

Beginning this year, park concessions will be open yearround. The Emory Melton Inn and Conference Center, the CCC Lodge, the park store and the restaurant will be open Friday through Sunday. The hours have not yet been announced.

The park is currently accepting reservations for Campground 1 for the winter season, Busekrus said.
