Esther Marie Cole, 93, of Battlefield, Mo. passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at her home. She was born March 24, 1931, in South Plainfield, N.J., the daughter of John and Louise (Orrico) Scarano, who preceded her in death.

Als preceding her in death was her husband, William H. Cole; sister, Gloria Ciminieri. Survivors include two sons, Bill Cole of Battlefield, Mo. and Bob Cole and his wife Cassandra of Battlefield, Mo.; one daughter, Patty Henderson and her husband Greg of Monett, Mo.; a half-brother, John Scarano of Oakland, Calif. and two grandsons.

She grew up and attended school in New Brunswick, N.J., graduating from St. Peters High School. She and her family moved to Cassville in 1973. Esther was employed by Roaring River Restaurant as a hostess and waitress from 1973 until 1998, fromwhere she retired. After retiring she babysat her grandsons, which she loved.

Services were held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at St. Edward Catholic Church in Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Father William Hodgson conducted the services. Burial will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Mo. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice Compassus in memory of Esther.
