Linda Kay Phipps, 82, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2024, at her home in Cassville, Mo.
Linda was born August 24, 1942, in Springfield, Mo., to Carl E. Henley and Christine (Hartley) Henley, who preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death was her husband Marvin E. Phipps; daughter, Maria Kay Phipps; one sister-in-law, Audra Stanifer, and one brotherin- law, Jim Crowell.
Survivors include one sister-in-law, Nancy Crowell of Columbia, Mo.; three nephews; three cousins, Lloyd Henley, Lorna Larson, and Susan Montgomery; and several niecesin- law, great-nieces, great-nephews, special friends, and beloved caregivers.
After graduating from Ava High School she earned a degree in Music, from Southwest Mo. State College in Springfield, Mo.
Throughout their entire lives, Linda and Marvin, most lovingly and devotedly, cared for their “Special Angel, Maria,” as Linda fondly referred to her.
She accompanied many musicians and choirs.
She was the pianist, and an avid member of the Bell Choir, at Cassville United Methodist Church for many years. She also taught Elementary and Junior High School Music, and First and Second Grades; and she gave piano lessons to numerous piano students in her home.
Services were held Saturday, September 28, 2024, at United Methodist Church in Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Jeff Fugitt conducted the services. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cassville.

Linda was a lovely person. She played the PIANO (my request) at my dad’s funeral and it was the most beautiful tribute. I am sad she is gone.
