Cassville man charged with sodomy, molestation

A Cassville man is facing four felony charges stemming from nine years of alleged sexual abuse of a minor.

Lloyd Bowen, 51, of Cassville, is charged with two counts of first-degree statutory sodomy and two counts of first-degree child molestation According to a probable cause statement filed by Det. Stuart Lombard, with the Cassville Police Department, the victim was allegedly subjected to aggravated sexual contact multiple times over the course of nine years, from 2008 to 2017.

The first alleged incident occurred when the victim was less than 7 years of age. In 2008, Bowen allegedly performed oral sex on the victim and in 2009 or 2010, he allegedly forced the victim perform oral sex on him.

In 2012 or 2013, Bowen allegedly forced the victim to touch him while the victim was in their bedroom. In 2014 or 2015, Bowen allegedly inappropriately touched the victim while they were in bed.

The victim stated there were multiple instanced where Bowen would force touching while sitting on his lap, as well as rub the victim’s bottom and make ‘sexual noises’ while hugging the victim.

A warrant for Bowen was issued on Oct. 4, and he was arrested on Monday. He is being held on a $50,000 cash-only bond. A hearing was held on Monday, and a preliminary hearing is set fore Oct. 31 at 8:30 a.m. in the courtroom of Judge Robert Foulke.
