A Seligman man is facing multiple municipal charges for allegedly stealing items from a construction site on Highway 37.
Jason Hern, 40, of Seligman, is charged with misdemeanor stealing, first-degree trespassing (second offense), loitering, possession of stolen property and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Sept. 30, at approximately 9:25 p.m., the Seligman Police Department observed a male, identified as Hern walking north on State Highway 37. Hern had an active warrant for his arrest for stealing, and he was taken into custody at 9:29 p.m. During a search following the arrest, police allegedly located nine unopened bags of metal screws and one opened box of metal screws, along with various drug paraphernalia, in Hern’s backpack.
The metal screws had a total value of $400 and were allegedly stolen from the construction site of the new Dollar General on State Highway 37.
Dating back to 2022, Hern has been charged with multiple municipal violations, including: nuisance violations, possession of stolen property, trespassing and stealing.
