Grants to low-income households capped at $5K
Following a major disaster declaration, Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation (OACAC) has received $80,000 in disaster relief funding from Missouri Housing Development Commission.
These funds are to assist low-income Barry County residents who sustained damage to their homes from severe weather systems that generated tornadoes, high winds, and flooding between May 19 to May 27.
The OACAC Barry County Neighborhood Center staff will assist eligible residents with costs related to the disaster, including costs to meet local codes, remediation of environmental hazards, accessibility repairs and improvements, major system repairs and improvements, septic repair or replacement, and repair or replacement of an existing well.
The cap for each household is $5,000.
