Middle school XC wins Big 8

Multiple high school runners medal in conference meet

The Cassville cross country teams competed in the Big 8 Conference Meet in Lamar on Oct. 22, with the future of the program bringing home some serious hardware.

The middle school boys won the Conference championship, and individually, Hattie Lyons and Dade Zajac each won their divisions and are Conference champions.

The middle school girls finished third and both varsity teams finished fourth. 

All-Conference runners include: First Team, Trever Garnett, Dade Zajac, Nathan Lyons, Jaxen Anderson and Hattie Lyons; Second Team, Jadyn Williams and Briley Artherton; Honorable Mention, Jameson Barnes, Donovan Mikesh and Kynzleigh Scott.

Finally, earlier this season on Oct. 15, the middle school boys won the Hollister Open, with the middle school girls taking fifth and varsity boys seventh. Many runners set personal or season bests.
