The inaugural Cassville March for Vets will be held on Monday beginning at 9 a.m. at the Cassville Aquatic Park. Groups of residents and veterans will walk the streets and Greenway trail in Cassville, and all funds will benefit the Gary Sinise Foundation and its mission to assist veterans. People may sponsor a walker, give a donation or walk themselves. A tent will be set up at the Aquatic Park with snacks and drinks for participants. All fitness levels are welcome, and people may walk as much as they wish of the five-mile Greenway trail.
Purdy will host a Veterans Day assembly on Nov. .11 at 10 a.m. in the FEMA Auditorium. The community and any veterans are invited to attend.
Veterans Day event at Cassville Senior Center
Cassville Senior Center is hosting a Veterans Day Event on Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Kiley Stringer, Morgan Zinn and Gene Robbins & Friends will provide music. The Cassville Senior Board of Directors and Security Bank of Southwest Missouri are sponsoring the Lunch for all veterans, spouses of veterans, and widows of veterans. Active duty military are also invited to eat free. All veterans may sign up at the door.
Pancake breakfast for veterans on Saturday
The Barry County 4-H will host a pancake breakfast, free to veterans and their families, on Saturday from 8-11 a.m. at the Sho-Me Plaza on Highway 248 in Cassville.
Mill Street Church of Christ hosting Veterans Day Breakfast
The Mill Street Church of Christ, located at 1104 Mill St. in Cassville, will host a Veterans Day Breakfast on Saturday beginning at 8 a.m. Guests should enter from the rear parking lot entrance. All local veterans and their families are encouraged to come. The meal will include items like eggs, sausage, biscuits, coffee and more.
High School hosting deer blind raffle
Cassville High School Industrial Tech is raffling off a deer blind the advanced woodworking class built with funds provided from the Fred Arning golf tournament. The deer blind is 6-foot-by-6-foot and is fully insulated. It also has two solar panels that power the light and a usb plug. The raffle will run from Oct. 22 to Nov. 12. The winner is responsible for hauling the blind. A fork lift will be available for loading. The deer blind is located in the parking lot of the Performing Arts Center for those who would like to see it in person. Free Thanksgiving meal at H&H Pool Hall
H&H Pool Hall in Cassville will host a free Thanksgiving dinner at 3:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28.
Veterans Day Assembly on Nov. 11 in Cassville PAC
Cassville High School will host its 36th annual Veterans Day assembly on Nov. 11 at 9 a.m. The event will be the first in the new Cassville High School Performing Arts Center Auditorium and is open to the public that would like to attend. The assembly will include performances from the Cassville Mass Choir and Concert Band, a demonstration of the Thirteen Folds of the American Flag by the JROTC color guard, and readings from several student organizations. Seating for the event will begin at 8:30 a.m. Veterans that will be in attendance are invited to sign in at the registration table upon arrival so that they can be recognized for their service during the ceremony. At the conclusion of the ceremony, there will be a reception held in the Performing Arts Center Upper Lobby. A catered brunch will be served for all veterans and their family members. Eagle Rock Community Association hosting Thanksgiving dinner

Senior Center Craft Fair Saturday
The Cassville Senior Center will host a holiday craft fair on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will feature a variety of handmade crafts and unique goods, offering a perfect opportunity for early holiday shopping. Music will be provided by Gene Robbins & Friends. Nachos and cheese is courtesy of ACCESS Family Care. Food will also be available from El Taco Zone Truck and Fosters BBQ. Vendors are welcome to reserve tables for $25 each. Registration forms can be picked up at the Senior Center, located at 1111 Fair St. in Cassville. Purdy school carnival upcoming
The Purdy PTSO School Carnival is set for Nov. 8 from 5-7 p.m. There is a silent auction with items donated from community businesses and baskets from the teachers within the school. There will be a Kansas City Chiefs-themed basket, car detailing basket, fall decor basket, gift card basket and many more. There is also a cake walk and many other booths with games, iced coffee, nail painting, etc. Each activity costs a certain amount of tickets, and tickets can be bought at the door the night of the carnival for 25 cents each. The money raised by the classrooms teachers goes back to those specific teachers. They will turn in their tickets at the end of the night and be reimbursed for however many tickets they acquired. The PTSO will have a concession stand with pulled pork sandwiches, pulled pork nachos, nachos and McAlister’s iced tea: sweet and unsweet. Businesses are welcome to make a monetary donation or a donation for the silent auction.

The Southwest Missouri Waste Management District N will hold its Annual Council Meeting at 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 12. The monthly Executive Board Meeting will be immediately following the Council Meeting at approximately 12:30 p.m. Both meetings are open to the public and will be held at the Monett Barry/Lawrence Public Library in Monett.
