Lora Lou Bruton, 61, of Purdy, Mo. passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024 surrounded by family and friends.
She was born July 28, 1963, in San Luis Obispo, Calif., the daughter of Bobby and Sarah (DeWitt) Bruton, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her brother, Carl Bruton and a sister, Ronda Pippin.
Survivors include her life partner of 17 years, Don Shelley of Purdy, Mo.; two sons, Jerry C. “J.C.” Hilburn of Swansboro, N.C., and Jake Hilburn and his wife Kia of Lebanon, Mo.; four sisters, Brenda Williams and her husband Steve of Oronogo, Mo., Glenda Barger and her husband Gerald of Pierce City, Mo., Vonda Bruton of Seligman, Mo. and Bobbie Perpich and her husband Duane of Athens, Ohio; seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
She and her family moved to the Seligman, Mo. area in 1965. She attended school at Southwest High School in Washburn, Mo. She was employed by Allene Patterson Tax Service in Cassville, Mo. as a tax preparer for several years. She was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.
A celebration of life was held Saturday, November 9, 2024, at H & H Pool Hall (American Legion Post 118) in Cassville, Mo.
Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
