Eagle Rock man dies in vehicle-pedestrian incident

An Eagle Rock man died in a vehicle-pedestrian collision at 11:45 p.m. on Friday on Highway 171 in Carterville in Jasper County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 31-year-old male, of Eagle Rock, was attempting to cross the roadway and was struck by a 2000 Ford F150, being driven by a 17-year-old male, of Webb City.

The Eagle Rock man was pronounced dead at 11:53 p.m. the scene by Jasper County Deputy Coroner Andrew Roughton.

The driver of the Ford was uninjured.

This is the 105th fatality of the year for Troop D of the Patrol, which covers 18 counties in southwest Missouri.
