Jerry Ray Boyd, 63, of St. James, Mo., passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, December 2, 2024.
Born on June 6, 1961, in Purdy, Mo., to Estes and Mary (Hilburn) Boyd, who preceded him in death.
Also preceding him in death was his brother and sisterin- law, Jim (Charlene) Boyd.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; his daughter, Elizabeth “Libby” (Jerod) Gardner of Midwest City, Okla.; his granddaughter; his sisters, Jane (John) Saunders of Washburn, Mo., and Joyce (Mark) Swinney of Ava, Mo.; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
A graduate of Cassville High School and the University of Missouri. He worked as a machinist, short-order cook, and electronic assembly technician, and was a stay-athome dad after the birth of his daughter. He was an accomplished author, having penned the popular Bob and Nikki and The Fatman’s Gift series, publishing an impressive 52 books.
A Celebration of Life service was held Monday, December 9, 2024, at the Rolla Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary. Pastor Mark Swinney officiated.
Memorial gifts are encouraged in lieu of flowers to a trust fund that the family has set up for his granddaughter, and any future grandchildren. Cards are available at all James & Gahr locations.
