

As of Monday, 5 of the 10 local high school basketball teams now know their district seeds and opponents, with one tournament being played close to home.
In boys action, three local teams — Purdy, Wheaton and Exeter — compete in Class 2, District 11. The top seed and by went to Crane, and Purdy landed the best seed in Barry County at No. 3. The Eagles, who are hosting the tournament, will face a familiar foe in No. 6 Wheaton at 8 p.m. Monday.
Exeter earned the No. 5 seed and will face No. 4 Galena at 5 p.m. Monday, with the winner set to face Crane at 6 p.m. Feb. 26.
The Purdy-Wheaton winner will face the victor of No. 2 Blue Eye and No. 7 Verona in the semifinals at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 26.
The championship is set for 6 p.m. Feb. 28.
In Class 3, District 12, the Southwest boys took the No. 6 seed and will face the host, No. 3 Diamond, at 8:30 p.m. Monday. New Heights took the top spot and bye to the semifinals, where it will face the winner of No. 4 Pierce City and No. 5 Marionville. The Southwest-Diamond winner will face the victor of No. 2 Miller and No. 7 Sarcoxie in a semifinal on Feb. 26 at 7:30 p.m.
The championship is set for 7 p.m. Feb. 28.
In girls postseason action, Exeter took the No. 2 seed in Class 1, District 3 and will face No. 7 School of the Ozarks at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Verona. Hurley earned the No. 1 seed and bye and will face the winner of No. 4 Thomas Jefferson and No. 5 Billings in a semifinal at 6 p.m. Feb. 27.
The Exeter-School of the Ozarks winner will face the victor of No. 3 Verona and No. 6 McAuley in the other semifinal at 7:20 p.m. Feb. 27.
The championship is March 1 at 1 p.m.
Southwest is in Class 3, District 12, with Clever pla ing host, and Purdy and Wheaton are in Class 2, District 11, with Blue Eye hosting. Both tournaments begin on Tuesday.
The Cassville boys and girls are in Class 4, District 12, with both tournaments being hosted by Monett and run March 3-8.
The seeding meetings for both tournaments will be held on Thursday.
