Barry Electric asks members to conserve energy in cold snap

Barry Electric Cooperative is asking its members to conserve energy use Thursday morning.

According to a press release from Barry Electric, Associated Electric Cooperative, Barry Electric’s wholesale power generator, is requesting members conserve energy due to extreme winter weather and maximum load on our electric grid.

To help safeguard the grid, members are asked to conserve energy on Thursday from 6-10 a.m. by lowering their thermostats a few degrees and turning off any non-essential electric devices.

“Your help will make a difference,” the release said.
