A Washburn man facing felony charges in two cases is now charged in a third after another victim has come forward.
Wesley Roller, 74, of Washburn, is charged with second-degree statutory sodomy and second-degree child molestation. In January, he was charged in two separate cases with sodomy (victim under 14 years old) and first-degree sexual abuse in one, and patronizing a sexual performance by a child, fourth-degree child molestation (child under 17) and misdemeanor second-degree sexual misconduct in the other.
In the new case, according to a probable cause statement filed by Det. Abby Parsons, with the Barry County Sheriff’s Office, authorities spoke with a victim who said Roller assaulted him when he was a juvenile under the age of 15, from May 2006 to May 2007.
The victim, who worked for Roller’s business at the time, stated Roller allegedly touched his genitals four or five times while driving in the shop truck, and Roller took the victim to his residence and allegedly forced the victim to perform sexual acts on himself and, later on the same day put his mouth on the victim’s genitals while at Roller’s business.
According to Parsons’ statement, multiple victims have come forward regarding inappropriate sexual conduct with Roller.
Roller was being held in the previous two cases on $50,000 bonds, which he met and was released. For the new case, Roller was booked into the Barry County jail on Feb. 11, and is being held on a cash-only bond of $50,000. A bond hearing scheduled for Tuesday in the courtroom of Judge Robert Foulke was moved to Friday at 9 a.m. The Barry County Sheriff’s Office’s jail roster shows Roller was released on Tuesday at 10:27 a.m.
Preliminary hearings for Roller’s first two cases are scheduled for March 6 at 1 p.m. In those cases, Roller is accused of asking a juvenile male to participate in making pornography and touching the victim inappropriately, as well as touching another juvenile male and forcing the victim to touch him.
