Enrollment open for Diabetes Prevention Program at Cox Monett
Free lifestyle change program offers weekly sessions for a year
Enrollment is now open for a structured lifestyle change program aimed at delaying or preventing Type 2 diabetes.
This evidence-based Centers for Disease Control Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) will be hosted at Cox Monett Hospital in collaboration with the University of Missouri Extension and led by a trained lifestyle coach.
The DPP is committed to helping participants make sustainable and healthy lifestyle choices to prevent Type 2 diabetes.
Features of the DPP include:
• Weekly sessions that provide accountability and focus on health, nutrition, physical activity and weight loss.
• Classes cover a variety of topics, including eating well, increasing physical activity, getting enough sleep and staying motivated.
• Participants can build connections with other members, fostering collaboration on their health journey.
• Weekly classes may include walking groups, grocery store tours and food demonstrations.
“Join us to take the next step toward a healthier future,” a Cox Monett press release said.
The next session will begin April 1, 2025, and run through April 7, 2026. DPP is offered at no charge to participants.
