Southwest Middle School won seven of eight matches March 1 and finished in a 3-way tie for first but ended with 3rd place overall at the Shell Knob Scholar Bowl Tournament. A total of 14 teams entered. The A team of Brielee Jones, Conner Jones, McKinley Miller and Natalie Corn, pictured above, ended their middle school careers with an overtime victory over tourney Willard, the overall champs of the event. Brielee and Conner, pictured below, were named to the All-Tournament team. The Southwest B team of 6th-graders Scarlett Jones, Tucker Jones, Brody Holt, Kason Brinkman and Saleh Grubbs won three of eight games and placed 10th. The teams are coached by Steve Voyak.
