Arkansas man dies in single-vehicle wreck

An Arkansas man died on Friday in a wreck at 4:16 p.m. on Farm Road 1075, one mile north of Seligman.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 29-year-old male, of Horatio, Ark., was driving a 2013 Toyota Highlander northbound on Farm Road 1075 when his vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck an embankment.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by Barry County Coroner Gary Swearingen, and the man was transported to Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

The driver was not wearing a safety device, and the vehicle was totaled.

This is the 25th fatality of the year for Troop D of the Patrol, which covers 18 counties in southwest Missouri, including Barry.
