A Cassville woman is facing a felony stealing charge for allegedly using two business debit cards for personal expenses.
Kasey Baker, born 1986, of Cassville, is charged with felony stealing – $750 or more.
According to a probable cause statement filed by Sgt. Devin McCormack, a witness contacted the Cassville Police Department on Sept. 3, 2024. The individual, who is the president for the victim business, said after reviewing financial statements, it was allegedly found Baker had been making personal purchases at Walmart using a business debit card between the dates of June 9, 2023, and Aug, 1, 2024.
The witness provided bank forms showing two debit cards, which had been issued to and allegedly used by Baker to make the purchases. Baker was treasurer of the business at the time the alleged purchases occurred.
McCormack retrieved transaction receipts from Walmart for all purchases made between June 9, 2023 and Aug. 1, 2024, which were then provided to the witness to have the board of the victim business review to verify which transactions were business or personal.
McCormack said the witness found Baker had allegedly charged a total of $2,457.77 to the business’ bank account for personal, non-business related purchases from June 9, 2023, and Aug, 1, 2024.
A criminal summons has been issued to Baker to make an initial appearance on April 24 at 8:30 a.m. in the courtroom of Judge Robert Foulke.
