Clarence “Brad” Ruggles, 96, passed at home on April 6, 2025.

He was born on January 16, 1929 in Idabelle, Okla., to Georgia and Harry Ruggles, who preceded him in death.

Also preceding him in death was his brother, Marion Ruggles and oldest son, Chris Ruggles.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie; three sons, Ron Ruggles (Amy) of Holiday Island, Rick Ruggles of Osceola, Bob Ruggles (Linda) of Osceola; one daughter, Joyce Dykes (Robert) of Cassville, along with 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He and Jackie moved to Cassville from Colorado Springs in 1994 and have resided at Hilltop since.

He was a Korean War Marine veteran and was previously active as an officer in the Cassville American Legion. In his younger years in Manitou Springs, Colo. he was a volunteer firefighter and auto body shop owner. He worked at Arning Industries and for Barry County, mapping county roads and replacing signage before his retirement.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
