Sharyn Saffold: Les Jacobs Ford loss will be felt

Dear Editor:

For almost 30 years, we have been privileged to have Les Jacobs Ford in our community.

Many of us have purchased our vehicles there, had our service work done there or even had our body work on our vehicles done there.

We were always treated with kindness and fairness.

The dealership became an integral part of our community, participating in most local events, quietly helping others — filling a need and wanting no recognition. Losing the business will have a huge impact on our community.

The jobs lost, the loss of our only new car dealership, the loss of sales tax revenue and the loss of very good neighbors is all incredibly sad.

I understand Ford Motor Company has rules, but are they taking into consideration the communities they are impacting? Ford should be reminded they deal with people, not just “rules” agreed upon 28 years ago.

In the last 5 years, our family has purchased five vehicles for ourselves and our granddaughters at Les Jacobs Ford. We knew if there was an issue, they would be taken care of.

Often, dealerships are not receptive to female customers, and it is not that way at LJFord!

We will miss them; they have been wonderful contributors to our community. It is hard to find any other business who gives the quality of customer care and service, as well as experience, as Les Jacobs Ford!

God speed, our friends; may your next adventure bring you joy and happiness. Know you will be missed.
