Easter Egg Hunts on tap
Multiple Easter Egg Hunts will be held in Monett this month.
• The “Hop into Spring — 2025 Easter Egg Hunt” hosted by the Monett Area Chamber of Commerce will be held on April 19 at 10 a.m. A total of 15,000 eggs will be scattered at the Monett South Park soccer fields. Ages 0-3 start at 10 a.m., ages 4-6 at 10:10 a.m., ages 7-10 at 10:20 a.m., and a special needs hunt will be at 10:30 a.m.
• First United Methodist Church in Monett will host its Palm Sunday Egg Hunts on April 13, starting at 10:20 a.m. Ages 0-4 begin at 10:25 a.m., ages 5-8 at 10:35 a.m, ages 9-11 at 10:45 a.m., and a special needs hunt will be at 10:55 a.m. If inclement weather is possible, the hunt will be moved indoors. A light breakfast will be provided, as well as crafts and coloring pages in the Family Life Center. Parents/guardians must be present with their children, and there will be a place to exchange food for those with allergies. Eggs will be empty during the hunt, and prizes will be given once a count is determined. The top egg hunter in each age group will receive an extra prize. There will also be a gift card giveaway after all hunts conclude.
• New Site Baptist Church in Monett will host its Easter Eggstravaganza on April 19 from 1-4 p.m., beginning in the gym. The event is for children in fifth grade and younger, as well as their families. It will feature face painting, inflatables, popcorn, snacks and age-specific egg hunts.
100+ Women Second Quarter meeting in May
The 100+Women of Barry and Lawrence Counties will hold its 2025 Second Quarter meeting on May 1 from 6-8 p.m. at the Monett Historical Society. Social hour is from 6-7 p.m., and the meeting begins at 7 p.m., with food and drinks provided. OFO Fundraiser Concert on April 27
The ozark Festival Orchestra will hold a Fundraiser Concert on April 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Monett High School Performing Arts Center. Carla Wootton will conduct, joined by special guests Marcus Collins and friends. Tickets are $20 each, and $50 for VIP, up close seats. People may buy tickets at www.ozarkfestivalorchestra.com.
Drury GO Blood Drive coming up
Drury GO, in cooperation with the American Red Cross, will host a blood drive on April 21 from noon to 4 p.m. Donors may enter for a chance to win a $5,000 prize. People may schedule appointments at https://tinyurl.com/6954uj3r.
First on Front returns May 2
The 1st On Front summer concert series, presented by 1st State Bank, will return to the Monett Downtown Pavilion on May 2 for the first of three concerts this summer. The event is from 6-9 p.m. and is free to the public. There will be live music from local artists, as well as food trucks. The June event will be on June 6 at the Pavilion, and the July event will be on July 11, the 1st On Front Pop Up at Cassville South Park in Cassville.
MHS Thespians present ‘The Giver’
The MHS Thespians will present “The Giver” on April 10 at 7 p.m. at the Monett High School Performing Arts Center. The one-night-only performance is free admission and runs about 30 minutes in length. Potential attendees should note the show includes the use of haze, flashing light and gunshot sound effects.
Shred-It Day at FUMC Monett
First United Methodist Church in Monett will host Shred-It Day on April 12 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. People may bring any documents that need securely shredded (residential only). Staples need not be removed, but people should remove any paper clips, binder clips or brads. Hot dogs and drinks will be available at the free event.
2025 Spring Shot/Microchip Clinic in April
The Monett MO Dog Pound will host its 2025 Spring Shot/Microchip Clinic on April 26 at 8 a.m. at Monett South Park The event is for dogs only, and services include shots for rabies, distemper/parvo and kennel cough. Microchipping is also available.
VFW Auxiliary Lunch schedule delivered
The VFW Post 4207 Auxiliary will host lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. twice monthly through April, with all meals priced at $8. Each meal includes a salad, dessert and coffee, tea or water (soda is for sale). Meals may be preordered by calling the VFW at 417-235-8394. The April 16 meal is Chicken fettuccini Alfredo, steamed broccoli and garlic bread.
