Bernice Smith, aged 79, of Stark City, Missouri, peacefully passed away at home on April 10, 2025.
Born to Leonard and Isabelle (Will) Hoelscher on September 24, 1945, in Griffith, Indiana, she was a proud graduate of Griffith High School, class of 1963.
On June 25, 1994, she was united in marriage to Dan Smith in Cassville, Missouri. Bernice was employed at Fasco Industries in the accounting department for many years.
Bernice deeply cherished her family and grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life. She had a passion for stained glass, crocheting, and took great delight in painting her house in various vibrant colors.
Survivors include her loving husband of 30 years Dan Smith; one son, Phillip Driver and his wife Lora of Cassville, Missouri; one daughter Karen Smith and her husband Scott of Monett, Missouri; two step sons, Chad Smith and his wife Jennifer of Bella Vista, Arkansas and Colby Smith and his wife Alex of Kodiak, Alaska; one step daughter Heidi Smith of Carthage, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Mckenzie, Summer, Michael and his wife Josie, Madison and her husband Blake, Avery, Bryson, Brianna, Watson, and Archer; four great grandchildren, Luci, Pate, Palmer, and Traveler; two brothers, Al Hoelscher of Golden, Missouri, and Butch Hoelscher of Griffith, Indiana.
Bernice is preceded in death by her late husband Eddie Driver who passed away April 29,1991, one son, Dennis Driver, her parents, Leonard and Isabelle Hoelscher, and one sister, Rose Gilsinger.
A memorial was held Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at White Funeral Home and Crematory in Cassville, Missouri, Pastor Gerald Burnside officiated.
Memorials may be made to the grandchildren and entrusted to White Funeral Home and Crematory.
