Jackie Lee Flaxbeard, 81, of Kearney, Mo. passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025, at his home.

He was born September 13, 1943 in Neosho, Mo., the son of Henry and Thelma (East) Flaxbeard, who preceded him in death.

Also preceding him in death was a sister, Jean Dickson

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Bacon; two daughters, Veronica Morriss and her husband William of Kansas City, Mo. and LaDonna “Bridgett” Tompkins and her husband Brian of Gallatin, Mo.; one brother,
Bob Flaxbeard of Pleasant Hill, Mo.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, with one on the way.

He grew up in Wheaton, Mo., and was a proud graduate of Wheaton High School with the class of 1961.

He joined the United States Marines, serving during the Vietnam War. He worked for Hallmark for several years, from where he retired, he took on a role at Veriform in Kearney, Mo.

He was a member of VFW Post 5717.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 2, 2025 at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. with military honors at 3:00 P.M.
