The Cassville girls track and field team went to Bolivar last week to compete in the Southwest Baptist University Invitational, taking 7th place out of 43 total teams at the Class 1-3 event. Results include:

Lady Wildcats win on senior night
The Cassville girls soccer team (9-11) earned a 2-0 win over Aurora on Thursday, which was the team’s senior night. Audrey Gosvener scored her 7th goal of the season in the first half, assisted by senior Jasmine Brown, her fourth of the year.
Brown also scored her 11th goal of the season, a penalty after she was fouled in the box. Emerson Grossman also posted her sixth shutout of the season. Cassville is wrapping up the season, hosting Fair Grove today (Wednesday) in the final home game and facing Greenwood on May 9 before districts begin on May 14.
Eagles win with walkoff over East Newton
The Purdy baseball team (17-2 and ranked No. 9 in Class 2) was down 11-6 against East Newton on Friday, but the Eagles rallied in the bottom of the seventh to plate five runs, capped by a Hunter Lee bunt single that scored Jeremiah Williams to end the game at 12-11 for Purdy. Ezequiel Garcia led at the plate with 3 hits and 3 RBI. Bosten Goetz added 2 hits and 2 RBI. On the mound, Trey Hughes went four innings, giving up 3 hits and 4 runs while striking out 7. Travis Hughes took the win with one inning of work, allowing 2 hits and a run, and striking out one. Purdy hits the road today (Wednesday) to face Billings.
