Chappell wins Cassville tourney
The Cassville girls golf team hosted a 9-school tournament on Thursday, with Joplin taking first place in the team scores with a 402, and Cassville second with a 409. Individually, Avery Chappell took first place, and Gracie Harmon medaled by taking eighth. On Aug. 30, Chappell and the Lady Wildcats competed in the Reed Spring tournament, with the junior state placer last year shooting a 77 to take 3rd out of about 80 golfers. The tournament was held at theThousand Hills Golf club in Branson.
Cassville XC shining early in season
The Cassville boys and girls cross country teams went to Seneca Thursday and had an eye-catching meet. The girls finished in first place overall and the boys finished second.

Wildcats runner-up at NCA Tourney
The Cassville boys soccer team moved to 5-1-1 last week, earning a 2-1 overtime win over Hillcrest on Sept. 6, a 6-1 victory over Fair Grove on Thursday, a 2-0 victory over Marshfield, and a 1-0 loss to New Covenant Academy. The Wildcats finished second in the New Covenant Tournament with the Saturday loss.
Lady Wildcats pick up pair of wins
The Cassville softball team (4-5) picked up two wins out of three games last week. The Lady Wildcats, playing at Purdy’s field while the turf installation continues, defeated Logan-Rogersville and Carl Junction at home Sept. 6 and 7, winning 9-5 and 7-6. Cassville then fell to Marshfield on Thursday, 3-1, and played Monett on Tuesday, with results not available at presstime.
