Cross country teams make history
The Cassville boys and girls cross country teams made program history on Saturday at the Class 3, District 2 meet. For the first time ever, both teams qualified for the state meet, as they each took third in the district races. Full results include:

Wheaton falls in district title tilt
The Wheaton volleyball team closed its season on Oct. 25, falling to Galena 3-0 (19-25, 14-25 and 18-25) in the Class 1, District 9 championship. the Lady Bulldogs entered the tournament as the No. 2 seed, defeating Exeter in straight sets in the quarterfinals, 25-22, 25-14 and 25-20. In the semifinals, Wheaton topped Verona 3-0 with scores of 25-14, 25-15 and 25-23. Galena was the top seed in the tournament.
Grossman wins all-tourney award
Cassville volleyball player Emerson Grossman was named to the 2022 Mustang Volleyball Classic All-Tournament Team. The Lady Wildcats were 0-4 at the tournament, with losses to Seneca, Sarcoxie, College Heights and Diamond. Cassville’s season came to a close on Oct. 20 with a 3-0 loss (17-25, 17-25 and 13-25) to Mt. Vernon in district action. The Lady Wildcats finish the year at 2-27 with wins over Blue Eye and Monett.
