A Cassville man suspected of multiple commercial burglaries is now facing six felonies and one misdemeanor in three separate cases.
Jamison Jump, 20, of Cassville, is charged with stealing a motor vehicle and second degree burglary in one case; stealing a firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm and stealing $750 or more in a second case; and second-degree burglary and misdemeanor second-degree property damage.
In the first case, a probable cause statement filed by Sgt. Donald Privett, with the Cassville Police Department said at about 6:04 p.m. on Dec. 1, officers were dispatched to Tucker Electric on Old Highway 37 in reference to a burglary and stolen white single- cab Dodge pickup.
Surveillance video allegedly showed an individual enter the business, remove keys from the desk and then leave the business in the stolen vehicle.
Privett said the subject in the video matched the description of another subject suspected of multiple burglaries.
At 8:20 a.m., police located the vehicle in the Cassville City Park behind MFA, which had also been burglarized. While processing the vehicle, Privett located and photographed shoe prints in the sand that matched other burglaries.
At about 1:16 p.m., officers executed a search warrant at Jump’s home, seizing a pair of Nike tennis shoes that allegedly match the prints.
In the second case, a probable cause report filed by Det. Stuart Lombard said officers were dispatched to Flat Creek Realty on Main Street on Nov. 26 for a reported burglary.
The victim stated the rear door had been forced open and door frame damaged, and missing from the business were a .22 rifle, 12-gauge shotgun, men’s gold ring, maroon jewelry box and a Freedom Bank lockbox key.
At the same search executed at Jump’s home on Dec. 1, police allegedly recovered the rifle, the ring and other stolen items.
In the third case, a probable cause statement filed by Deputy Jimmy Pennington, with the Barry County Sheriff’s Office, said on Dec. 1 at about 5:33 a.m., authorities were dispatched to Quick Cash of Missouri on Highway 37 in Seligman for an alarm sounding.
Upon arrival, deputies found a glass pane window shattered, and Pennington determined no one was in the building, but a money drawer was open and empty.
Pennington went to a nearby convenience store to check surveillance footage, determining the suspect to be in a white pickup, the same vehicle allegedly stolen from Tucker Electric.
No one was seen exiting the truck due to the way the cameras were aimed, but deputies could see the truck enter the parking lot and go to Quick Cash and circling the parking lot. It left northbound on Highway 37.
At 7:13 a.m., Deputy Jeremy Berner was assisting on the case and heard Privett call over the radio to look for the Dodge, which was allegedly stolen. Berner took photos of the truck to Privett, who confirmed it was the stolen vehicle.
Jump is being held in the Barry County jail on cash-only bonds of $15,000 for each case.
He has been arraigned, and a preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 12 at 1 p.m. in the courtroom of Judge Robert Foulke.
