Johnny Lee Elmore, 81, of Purdy, passed away Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023, at his home.

He was born July 28, 1941, in Iona, Texas the son of Charlie and Cecil (Capart) Elmore.

Surviving him in death is wife, Darlene Chaney; one son, Eddie Elmore and his wife Kelia of Bellville, Ill.; one daughter, Lorrie Hall of Rolla; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were one brother, Joe Elmore and one sister, Betty Lou Bolin.

He attended school in Haskell, Texas. He joined the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam War where he served four years. Returning home he became an over the road truck driver, retiring in 2003. He was a member of Arnhart Baptist Church.

Graveside services were held Saturday, Jan. 7, at Arnhart Cemetery in Purdy, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Jason Mackey conducted the services.
