Cassville teams fall to Nevada
Due to ongoing winter weather, the Cassville boys basketball team played its first game in 14 days on Friday. The Wildcats (10-9) fell to Nevada at home, 57-43. The Cassville girls basketball team (12-9) defeated East Newton at home on Jan. 26, 43-29, but was defeated by Nevada on Friday, 48-18. Pazlee Burbridge led scoring with 7 points. Marianne McCrackin, Kyler Hayward and Elly Ramaeker each had 3, and Macie Walker added 2. The Wildcats are home today, facing McDonald County in the rescheduled Homecoming game. Varsity will tip at about 5:45 p.m. The Lady Wildcats host McDonald County on Thursday at 6 p.m.
Southwest gets win over Galena
The Southwest boys basketball team (14-6, 1-1) earned a road conference win over Galena on Friday, 63-58. Kasen Holder led Southwest in scoring with 23 points. Brendyn Paulsen put up 12, Lucas Paulsen and Zach Corwin added 9 each, Brandon Brooks had 8 and Charlie Pippin scored 2. The Trojans return home on Thursday to host Purdy at 6 p.m. The Southwest girls basketball team (8-12) plays next on Thursday at Sparta.
Eagles suffer close loss to Crane
The Purdy boys basketball team (13-9) faced Crane on the road Friday, suffering a 57-55 loss to the Pirates. The Eagles traveled to Spokane on Tuesday, and they return home for the last two games of the season, Friday against Billings and Tuesday against Galena. The Purdy girls basketball team (4-17) plays next at Billings on Thursday.
