SeniorAge Area Agency on Aging strives to connect seniors with not only local resources, but state assistance programs as well.
There are programs available to help with Medicare costs, drug coverage and even food assistance. For example, a Medicare Savings Program can help cover the cost of the Medicare Part B premium ($164.90).
The income guidelines for a single person to qualify are:
• Monthly gross income: $1,660 and maximum monetary assets allowed are $9,090
• For married individuals, the monthly gross income must be no more than $2,239 and maximum monetary assets are $13,630 There is also a program that helps Medicare beneficiaries with their Part D costs. This would include prescription drug copays, premiums, and deductibles.
The income guidelines for a single person are:
• $1,843 and maximum monetary assets allowed are $16,660
• For married individuals, the monthly gross income must be no more than $2,485 and maximum monetary assets are $33,240 SeniorAge can also help with other state applications.
The Cassville Senior Center can also help with benefit enrollment opportunities. Centers also offer week day meal programs, socialization, activities, and a variety of wellness opportunities including chronic disease workshops, walking programs, falls prevention education, and health presentations.
