Billy Mac Cooper

Billy Mac Cooper, 76, passed away on April 2, 2023 at his home in Wheaton.

He was born November 22, 1946, in Wheaton, Missouri the son of Lester and Willadean McQueen Cooper who preceded him in death.

Alo recedeing him in death was his wife, Ruth Smith; and stepbrothers, Ralph Sheets and Carl Sturgeon.

Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Gomez of Exeter, Mary Shipman and her husband Chris of Sedalia; one sister, Joy Tichenor and her husband Ed of Abilene, Texas; one stepsister, Nancy Mussat of Summerville, S.C.; six grandchildren, two nieces, and his special caregiver for the past four years, Peggy Miller and other relatives and many friends.

Billy grew up in the Joplin and Wheaton areas. After graduation he owned and operated several businesses in Wheaton working until ill health forced him to retire. He was a member of the Baptist Church and later became a member of Body of Christ in Wheaton where he served as a deacon.

Services were held at on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Pastor Gene Robinson and Pastor Dan Goostree conducted the services. Burial was at Muncie Chapel Cemetery in Wheaton.
