Residents can toss out myriad of items week of May 22
The city of Cassville has set the week for its Cassville Clean-Up Day for May 22, allowing residents to rid their homes of multiple larger items not accepted on normal trash days.
Residents can put the excess items on their curbs for pick-up on their regular service day the week of May 22-26.
For curbside pick-up, all small items must be bagged or boxed, not exceeding 50 pounds. Crews will not pick up loose or small items, or clothing.
No construction debris or large remodel projects will be accepted, and any non-acceptable items brought in from outside the city will be left at the curb.
Crews may not access personal property to assist in moving items, and clean-up will not take place at businesses, apartment buildings or vacant homes.
Acceptable items include: indoor or outdoor furniture, with no more than one larger furniture item or mattress per resident; beds and mattresses, with a limit of one per household; toilets, sinks, vanities and mirrors; rugs, not including carpet or padding; large children’s toys and bikes; hand and power tools; TVs and monitors; microwaves; plastic-cased dishwashers; grills, but no propane tanks; weed eaters and power tools drained of all fuel and oil; and up to 12 additional bags or boxes.
Items that will not be accepted include: small loose items not bagged or boxed; brush, limbs and yard waste, which is accepted at the city’s location at South Park; tires; hot tubs; large appliances; large rooms carpet; bulk fencing; household garbage; rocks, bricks or concrete; bulk liquids; batteries; fluorescent, CFL or HID bulbs; propane tanks; large engine automotive parts like motors, doors, hoods, etc.; hazardous waste, including paint, oil, aerosol cans, fertilizers, etc.; or construction debris, including shingles, lumber, etc.
