The city of Cassville sewer line replacement project continues to take on two jobs this week, with work continuing in the closed 200 block of West 11th Street and “A” line construction ongoing between East 10th and East 8th streets.
David Brock, Cassville public works director, said work is expected to finish on 11th Street in a couple of days.
“That crew will [then] begin working near the Wastewater Treatment Plant on Farm Road 1120,” he said.
Work on the “A” line progressed well last week, Brock said, with the completion of the crossing under Troublesome Branch.
“Work in this area should wrap up at the intersection of 8th Street and Mill during [this] week,” he said.
The following traffic restrictions should be anticipated through the week:
• A one block closure of West 11th street to through traffic from Townsend to Main
• North/south traffic on Townsend may be blocked intermittently as construction finishes up
• North/south traffic on Main Street will not be impeded • Local traffic will not be able access West 11th Street from Townsend (use Main or the alley behind Dollar General)
• Intermittent lane closures near the intersection of 8th and Mill.
“The contractor will try to keep access open for local traffic but there will likely be times when equipment or materials will block individual driveways,” Brock said. “If residents need to come or go, they can simply inform someone on the construction crew, a city staff member or the project inspector, and they will get you in or out as soon as possible.
“This portion of the project may be very disruptive in the immediate area of the excavations, if anyone has questions or concerns issues, please let us know.”
Pipe cleaning and inspections for the trenchless rehabilitation has been completed. There is no timeline yet for the installation of the cured in place pipe or manhole relining.
