The seasons of our lives are many.
From Ecclesiastes 3, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under Heaven.”
This is usually heard at funerals, but it is important right now. Many people I know are worried right now about the economy, politics and so many other things, including just life in general. However, I am refreshed when I remember that God is sovereign over everything.
We may be in a personal or collective season of winter. We are not the first to feel this way. Spiritual warfare is real and is always happening around us. Satan would like nothing better than for us to feel weak and hopeless. That is when he can do his work the easiest.
During our winter, we want to curl up and hope the storm blows past us. Rest assured it certainly will.
Remember, God has got this. This is when we should be preparing for what lies ahead. Polish the shield of faith to protect you from the darts of Satan. Let it reflect the sunlight so brightly it blinds those who would oppose us.
Sharpen the sword of the Spirit by praying and reading the word of God. Always be ready and stand firm in faith. Right now, you may not have much faith and everything above sounds like religious mumbo jumbo. You don’t need to find religion; you need to find a personal relationship with God. He is waiting for you and knows exactly where you are at.
God sent His son to die for you to save you and offer you a better life here and eternal life for the future. God does in fact love you as you are right now and offers you personal forgiveness.
Remember that spring comes after winter. With the spring comes new life and hope for the future. God has control over all things and if we trust Him we will get through the winter season and find our spring.
The time to start is now.
If you don’t have a home church, it is time to start looking and find one that you like. You should find one that teaches from the bible the way it is written.
It should be friendly, loving and filled with grace and you should feel like you belong there. Please get out of your comfort zone and start finding your spring.
