The river is low and clear as of Sunday, and with the water running at 28 CFS, dry fly fishing is fantastic right now.

Tricos in the morning; caddis most of the day; blue wing olives in the afternoons; a few sulphurs in the evening; and beetles, ants and hoppers work all afternoon.

Use 9’7X leaders for your best chances. Nymphs are still working well, as are pheasant tails, sow bugs, scuds, black zebra midges, red zebra midges, burlaps, RS2s and copper johns.

I’m using nymphs mostly 16s and smaller. Baby buggers, in olive, black and tan have all been good. Mop flies, mega worms, San Juan worms and egg patterns are all working right now.

If you would prefer to use plastics, white worms, pink worms, cheese, colored worms, white eggs, the pink eggs, and the multi color, orange and white eggs have been doing very well.

There are still a lot of fish being caught on spinners in the morning. Black olives, brown and yellow have been pretty good this week.

Maribou jigs are wonderful right now. The water is perfect for sight fishing, and black and yellow, white, olives and tan have been great colors this week.

Good luck on the river this week. If you are fishing a spinning rod, remember the water is low and clear and two-pound line will work best in these conditions!
