All things happen according to the glory of God.
At least, that is what we as Christians should believe. So much heartbreak has rocked our small town as of late and I would like to encourage those who have been affected as well as shed light to these dark situations.
I did not know many of those who have gone too soon, but I do know God. I know Him from His word.
His word is as a lamp unto my feet scripture says (Psalms 119:105).
All scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction and for training (2 Timothy 3:16). I can trust it and therefore I can trust Him. I do not have to know why these things occur, only that they occur for His glory.
One day, if it still means oh so much to us, every one of us will stand before Him and be able to ask “why?” I trust that His answer will be the same for all of us. “To bring you closer to me.”
I have seen those who fall so far, they hit the bottom, and I have marveled at how God builds them back up again.
Some people must lose everything, while some only that ONE thing. I pray every day that no one must ever lose anything to find Him, but we are fallen creatures and therefore we are stubborn and rebellious.
I pray that you are reading this right now, thinking of that ONE thing and never wanting to lose it. I pray that it never takes that much to get you to Him.
For whatever reason you are reading this, I pray that He calls you into His glorious light, making you a new creation, joint heir with Christ Jesus.
I pray that in this time of turmoil you find peace in His presence and His word.
Above all, I pray that you know Him far greater than I could ever hope to. Stand sure that His word is a firm foundation.
Romans 9:15 says that He will have mercy upon whom He will have mercy and compassion on whom He will have compassion.
Put your faith in His ways today, not your understanding or lack thereof.
