Vehicle overturns on Hwy. 86

An Eagle Rock man died on July 5 in a wreck at 5:55 p.m. on Highway 86, one mile south of Eagle Rock.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, James Riordan, 53, of Eagle Rock, was driving a 1994 Chevrolet GMT 400 truck eastbound when his vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, returned to the road and went into a skid, crossed the road and went off the left side, hitting an embankment and a tree and overturning.
Riordan was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Todd McCoy at 6:45 p.m. He was transported to Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
Riordan was not wearing a safety device, and the vehicle was totaled.
This is the 68th fatality of the year for Troop D of the Patrol, which covers 18 counties in southwest Missouri, including Barry.
