Laveta Beatrice Dabbs McCloud, 88, of Rocky Comfort, Mo., passed away peacefully Thursday, June 29, 2023, in Monett, Mo.

She was born May 28, 1935, in Seneca, Mo. to Lawrence and Stella (Barker) Arehart, who preceded her in death.

Also preceding her in death Was her first husband, Paul Dabbs; her second husband, Mike McCloud; one brother Gary Wayne Arehart; two sisters, Joann Carpenter and Merna Pickett.

Survivors include her daughters, Sharon Evans of Springfield, Mo. and Paula McCullah of Wheaton, Mo.; one brother, Leonard Arehart; two sisters, Delores Handley and Norma Wolfe; seven grandchildren, and close friend, Jean Tichenor.

She enjoying outings with her friends and daughters, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services were held July 7, 2023, at Wheaton Southern Baptist Church in Wheaton, Mo., under direction of McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Pastor Paul Wahlert conducted the services. Burial was at Rocky Comfort Cemetery in Rocky Comfort, Mo. Contributions may be made to American Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Laveta.
