Betty Sue Dewitt, 94, of Washburn, Mo. passed away Saturday, August 12, 2023.

She was born on July 11, 1929, in Hereford, Texas to Perry Alfred Patterson and Hattie Belle (Branch) Patterson.

Survivors include three daughters, Sue Burrows, Barbara Elkins (Charlie), and Patricia Roper (Doug). She had seven grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She had one older brother, Perry, and two younger brothers, Paschel and Preston.

After living in Texas and Armijo, NM. her family came to McDonald County in 1943 when she was 14 years old.

There she met Vernon Dewitt and they married on September 30, 1946.

She was a homemaker, Sunday School teacher, a girl scout leader, and sold Avon while Vernon worked in the oil fields.

Later in life Betty was the caregiver for her mother, her mother-inlaw, her husband, and then her father.

Services were held Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Washburn, Mo., under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Brother Keith Henson conducted the services. Burial was at Roller Cemetery in Washburn, Mo.
