Susan Elaine Thomas, 71, of Purdy, Mo. passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023, at her home.

She was born June 18, 1952, in Carthage, Mo. the daughter of Clarence (Harriett) and Betty (Mims) Witt, who preceded her in death.

Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Saundra and Joann.

Survivors include one daughter, Melissa James Moore of Purdy, Mo.; one son, Robert James and his wife Anita of Purdy, Mo.; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren; four brothers, David Witt of Carthage, Mo., Richard Witt and his wife Patty of Carthage, Mo., Doug Witt and his wife Debbie of Tennessee and Wayne Witt and his wife Anna of Carthage, Mo. and two sisters, Elizabeth Boswell of Carthage, Mo. and Edith Stratton and her husband Richard of Oronogo, Mo.

She grew up and attended school in Carthage, Mo., graduating from Carthage High School. She was employed as a manager of Fastrips in the Joplin, Mo. area. She was of the Baptist faith.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Reverend Russ Neill will conduct the services. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Butterfield, Mo.
