Charles “Leo” Catron

Charles “Leo” Catron of Cave Springs passed away September 2, 2023, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. Leo was born September 6, 1935, in Cassville, Missouri to Charles Perry Catron and Lois Erwin Catron. He was raised in the Antioch Community and in his early years was involved in 4-H and FFA. Leo served in the United States Marines serving mainly in Okinawa as a radio operator.

He married Norma Jean Bolinger of Huntsville, Arkansas in 1963 then welcomed their only child Michael Gene in 1969.

Leo drove a truck, then spent 20 years working for D.B. Hill Contractor of Little Rock. Leo loved working, hunting, and especially fishing and checking on the cows he called “the ladies”.

As his health failed, we watched as he played card games of solitaire, enjoying home cooked meals especially eating blackberry cobblers from berries picked by his grandsons and his favorite was probably tomatoes from their garden.

Leo is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Rose Joy Flynn of San Antonio, Texas, and his wife Norma Jean.

He is survived by his son Mike and daughter in law Francie, and their three children Charles, Clay, and Carah all of Gentry, one niece, Robin Joy White of San Antonio, Texas.
