I made my annual jaunt down to Southwest High School a couple times last week for the Annual Holiday Tournament, where I ran into none other than Announcr-DJ-Showman Jared Lankford. Southwest has enjoyed his services for the last many years, playing music, crowd games and announcing all three days of the annual event.
Although his trivia is too hard and his he plays the William Tell Overture so loud each warm-up that you wish you’s remembered this year to bring ear plugs, Jared does a mighty fine job over those 36+ hours of work. We hope he has not lost his voice this year, though we do hear reports from Butler Holler if you listen closely through the trees, you can still hear the wind carrying Jared’s favorite call, “Paaauuullllsen for tttthhhhhhrrrreeeeeeeeee.”
