James Ava “Jim” Cox, 82, of Rocky Comfort, Mo. passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024.

He was born June 27, 1941, in Douglas County, Mo., the son of James A. and Lorraine V. (Parker) Cox, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Nancy G. Asher; one daughter; one stepson, Danny and one grandson, Kyle.

Survivors include two stepdaughters, Deborah McHugh of Linwood, Kan. and Dodi David of Wichita, Kan.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He attended school in Mountain Grove, Mo. graduating from Mountain Grove High School in 1957. After graduating he enlisted in the United States Air Force serving from 1958 until 1961 as an electrical technician. He was a self-employed master mechanic and was also employed by General Motors and Freeman Automotive.

No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
