Catherine Ann “Cathy” Harter, 75, of Wheaton, Mo. passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Mercy Hospital Springfield, in Springfield, Mo.

She was born April 18, 1948, in Springfield, Mo., the daughter of Carl and Reta (Sanders) King, who preceded her in death.

Also preceding her in death was one brother, Jimmy C. King and one sister-in-law, Alice King.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Harter; one son, Stephen Harter and his wife Kristen of Marietta, Ga., and two grandchildren.

She grew up and attended school in Ash Grove, Mo., graduating from Ash Grove High School. She later attended Southwest Mo. State College earning a bachelor’s in education. Cathy and Jerry moved to this area in 1974. She taught business classes at Exeter High School in Exeter, Mo. for 33 years from where she retired in 2012.

She was a member of Wheaton Southern Baptist Church.

Services were held Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Wheaton Southern Baptist Church in Wheaton, under direction of McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Pastor Paul Wahlert and Reverend Jerry Francisco conducted the services. Burial was at Rocky Comfort Cemetery in Rocky Comfort, Mo.
