“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:1-2.
The life we live, our daily walk is so much more than we could ever imagine. There is someone watching you every day and we may never know who it is, but even more important than that; God is watching us. I believe as Christians, we do more harm to ourselves and those who are not saved by our lifestyle. Our Daily Walk is a living testimony of our love for Jesus first and foremost then to everyone we encounter each day.
Ephesians 5:1-7 tells us we should be walking in Love, the very Love God has given to us. The Bible tells us over and over again that God loves us.
The most well known verse is probably John 3:16. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” One of my favorite verses is 1 John 3:1, “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!’’
God loves us. That is a fact, not a feeling or an emotion that can come and go. The first question I must ask myself is do I love God? The second question I must ask myself is do I love others? Jesus said to us in John 13:34,35 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Our Daily Walk, the life we live, declares our love for Jesus and for everyone else in this world.
Ephesians 5:8-14 tells us we should be walking in the light.
In John 1:4, we are told that Jesus is the light of life. Light represents life, and darkness represents death. Walking in the light is living in obedience to God, walking in darkness is living in disobedience to God.
We need to be looking at Our Daily Walk to see where we are living. Galatians 5:1924 will tell us right where we are! John 8:12, “Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.’” Ephesians 5:15-21 tells us to walk in wisdom, not man’s wisdom but Godly wisdom.
Proverbs 14:12 says, “There is a way that seems right to a man but the end of that way is death.”
True wisdom comes from the word of God and can only be understood by the leading of the Holy Spirit, 1 Corinthians 2:14 tells us that.
Are we living our life based on world values or our own beliefs?
Our Daily Walk will show.
Galatians 6:7-8, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.” A very good friend of mine, Bob Cantwell would say, “Your walk talks, and your talk talks, but your walk talks louder than your talk talks.”
Christians, it’s time Our Daily Walk lines up with the word of God and we stop doing harm to the name of Jesus and all those around us.
